Robb: Deleting Topics?
Are mods not allowed to delete the first post in a thread?  I tried a little test in the entertainment forum, can't get rid of it, and feel somewhat foolish.

...Nothing to corrupt the eye; there is no vision here.

I tried that earlier and got:

Specific reasons for Deleting a post error:
You cannot delete the first post
Do you want to access the forum help files?

Possible reasons for Deleting a post error:
Password Incorrect
Username incorrect
Unregistered member

Let's test one more thing: try doing the other mod commands, like move topic, lock topic, edit the post, etc. If those don't work I think I know how to fix the problem.
