The real reason I bought games was so I could get this title. I had to buy Crash Bandicoot to appease my girlfriend. I couldn't just get something for myself else she would get pissed.

Anyway, SSX Tricky kicks some serious ass! Major improvements here over the original and I had thought SSX was one of the greatest games out there. Most of the original boarders are present along with some new faces. The original tracks made it, although completely revamped for tricks, with 2 new additions.

My favorite new face is Eddie. I think he's Polish, white, a computer programmer, and he has an orange afro. He also knows how to pop like a madman. Watch Eddie's afro while he boards.

Gameplay is still excellent with some new Uber tricks to spice things up. The trick book was redesigned into chapters this time. In order to get the harder tricks into your book you have to complete the simple chapters first. It's a cool change that forces you to progress through your trick book.

I definitely recommend this one.

Heh, I splurged on some games the other day and bought Crash Bandicoot for my girlfriend. It's pretty cool for a platform style game.

The graphics are much improved over the Crash games on the Playstation, which isn't a surprise, but they are also very good in comparison with other PS2 games. Framerates are also very fast, I can't recall many instances where the action has slowed at all.

One thing that has bothered me is the load times. They're awful. I've played other games that need to load larger levels that are much faster to load than Crash. Other than that, I think it's a solid game.

I wish I could capture some screen shots to show you because the replays look so real at times it's amazing.
Even the soundtrack is pretty good. There are songs by several artists including Powerman 5000, Lenny Kravitz, Papa Roach, and Goldfinger. Very cool.

My bro bought me this as a very late birthday present. I also got the multitap so we could play the 4 player game as well.

Gauntlet is very cool in my opinion. A lot has changed from the 80's classic. The arcade game was well made for a hack and slash. The PS2 version is nearly identical except it has been enhanced slightly. The extra buttons on the controller were used for 'Turbo attack', 'Strafe', 'Charge' (same as holding turbo), plus you can use the analog joystick for precise control. You can also choose several different character types, 6 initially, and more as they are unlocked. I don't recall being able to unlock characters in the arcade, it's really a neat feature.

We played a little with the multitap (My bro, my girlfriend, and me) and found it to be a little difficult. In all game modes you share the same screen, there is no split-screen. My brother and I did really well just the two of us, but when you add more than two the action gets crowded. You also get frustrated with each other because everyone is trying to go in different directions. It probably gets better with practice.

Overall I'd say Guantlet DL is a good game if you have some friends to play with. I don't think it's as much fun as a one-player game.

I bought this the other day and I'd have to say that it's pretty awesome. I was playing Twisted Metal 2 about a week before just for kicks until I remembered that Black was going to be released very soon. I had read a lot of good things about this game.

Anyway, the big difference between TM2 and Black is speed. You get into Black and you're lost straight away. Cars are flying around you, missiles from all sides are hitting you, explosions are rocking you, it's a cool experience. Of course, the graphics are a huge improvement over the previous games. The sound is good too, but I don't recall what the music soundtrack is like in Black. The soundtrack in 2 was great.

Fortunately, the controls in Black are practically identical to the earlier games with support for analog or digital control. One neat feature that was added is support for 4 players. I don't recall if this was possible before and even if it was, I probably wouldn't play it; 2 player split screen in previous versions was limiting, the viewable area being small and somewhat blurry. There was even some slow down. Black however is very easy to look at in 2 player mode and I have not encountered any slow down at all, even with the huge explosions in this game. I've even been thinking about trying out the 4 player mode with some friends just to see how it looks.

One other feature about Black is that chicks can dig it My girlfriend has been playing the 2 player co-op mode with me and has gotten pretty good at staying alive and killing fools. She doesn't normally play games either.

All in all I think Twisted Metal Black is a great game that should appeal to a large audience. It's replay value is high too, it's got locked characters and levels that can be unlocked by surviving the endurance rounds. I would recommend this game for anyone. It gets 4 thumbsup and a big grin.

Anyone played this one yet? I just bought it about a week ago and beat it. It lasted about 7 hours, which seemed disapointing. I do know that there were a few things that I missed like the holy sword or whatever and I didn't find all the glowing rocks. I have a feeling you're suppossed to want to play it again so you can find everything, but the storyline is too linear to tempt me to do that. The only thing that made me curious was the addition of an "extra" mode after beating the end boss. It still wasn't enough to get me to play the game all over again.
