A few days ago, I went to pick my sister up from school because my mother had called and said she wouldn't be off in time. I assured her that I'd pick her up, and I went back to sleep. She called again fifteen minutes before three, and I got up and went to the school. I stayed on the corner (out of the pick-up lanes), and waited for her to come out.
Keep in mind that I hadn't changed/bathed at all, and I was still wearing my pajama pants and a t-shirt. I had been there for a few minutes, when this huge dog came over and demanded I acknowledge his cute-ness. He stayed there with me for awhile, and finally school was over. I was standing (as people tend to do) when a few girls walked across the field towards their car. As they were coming across the field, they nodded towards me and started talking to one another. My first thought was, "Ugh...gossip-y teenagers."
But then I heard one of them ask, "Who is that?"
Her friend replied, "I don't know...some guy."
To which the first one said, "Ooh...he's hot."
And to my horror, they were talking about me. I was so damn angry, but then I realised it was only because I'm actually NOT a guy. Silly, right? It would seem so, except that for a long time now I've wished I were male. Oh, how I wish.
Anyhow, when they got to their car, the dog walked over to them and they patted his head before telling him to "go back to his daddy". And then they winked at me. They...winked...at me.

I'm such a playboy.

It has been with me in every instance of my life, it helped me grow. And now it's over, like a beautiful relationship which never failed me. From now on I am left only with the history, and I wish I had someone to share this with. I saw the final episodes of the greatest thing ever to be created on screen, The X-Files.
In the Great Barrier Reef, there are two species that have struck a chord with me. The Goby fish and the blind shrimp have a symbiotic relationship in which the Goby fish, with it's excellent vision, and the blind shrimp, with his wonderful digging skills, work together for survival.
The Goby fish enjoys living in tunnels, but lacks the skills, and the equipment, to dig. The blind shrimp digs wonderfully, but lacks the vision, hence the name, that the Goby fish has. So, the Goby watches out for the little shrimp fellow while he digs a home for them both. They stay in touch with the little shrimp's antennae and if they lose touch with one another, the Goby scours the ocean floor until they find one another again.
