I thought last night that Aalyiah is a beautiful name. And that when I have a doughter I'd like her to bear this name. I talked to baby too. We will probably name our future doughtier Aalyiah. Flows nice with my family name too.

But wouldn't it just remind you of dead people?

My signature is great.

I dunno.  Almost everyone people name their kids after is dead.

I was named after Robert The Bruce: quite decisively dead.

My brother's middle name (Hunter) came from our great-uncle who died of fever at age two: also decisively dead.

Anyone named Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, etc. : also named after dead people.

It will remind me of a wonderful girl who died at 22, Buzz. And I actually felt comfort and peace after coming to this decision.
Robert the Bruce, didn't he have something to do with Braveheart?

Yes'm.  "Braveheart" left some of the pertienent facts out, but it was more or less accurate.  Take a look:

Bannockburn is the stuff of Scottish legend.  My brother was able to visit it and took a pile of photos.

I liked Aaliyah's music too. I was just stating my opinion.

I know, but you said "just" as if that was the only thing that name would mean.
