Blood represents hard times and u should try to avoid confrontations with people you are close with.  As for guns, they can be phallic symbols or represent anger and the need for protection.  You mentioned the colour red a couple times....red is a symbol for passion.  Thass all I know off the top of my head.

I thought it was a good piece to read actually, very well written.
