Once more... | CardsForSorrow...
This is a quote from one of the greatest books ever written, in my oppinion, "Lost Illusions" by Honore de Balzac. I found it through my files, and, again, made me think of your situation. To quote Glacialis, the translation is courtesy of yours truly:

"Two persons immerse themselves in the battle of feelings, they speak instead of acting and they fight in a clear field instead of a siege. This way they often get tired of themselves, tiring their wishes in vain. Two people in love give themselves time to think then, time to watch each other. Often passions which start the battle on high horses, with a violence capable of crushing everything in its way end up coming back to their place, winless, ashamed, disarmed, dazed by the futile fuss they had started. This ending is partly explained by the shyness of youth and by the postponements that women use when they are just beginning, because the seducers who know their business or the women used to the strategy of passion never fall victims to the mutual tricks."
