movies on television

why?

why would i want to sit down in front of the televison for two hours and watch a movie on standard tier cable television?

1. commercials.

2. censorship.

one channel that just needs to stop showing movies altogether is comdedy central. i'd rather see two episodes of saturday night live than have to sit through an edited movie.

for example, the other day they were showing "half baked". if you're familiar with this movie, you''ll remember the following line:

"get me a box of condoms and uh... what was that stuff we used to eat back in the day? oh... pussy!"

well, they had to change it.

"get me a box of condoms and uh... what was that stuff we used to eat back in the day? oh... puddin'!"

PUDDIN'?! that's the BEST they could come up with? they couldn't have even had him say "vagina", or "punany"?!

fuck, they SHOULD have changed the line to "what was that stuff we used to have back in the day? oh... 'TANG!", so that people who hadn't seen the unedited movie might still have gotten the joke.

jesus, who writes these edits, anyway?
