"Richard Linklater's (Slacker, Before Sunrise) new film is a groundbreaking work that interweaves dreamlike animation with free-floating dialogues on existence, dreams, life and consciousness. Wiley Wigins travels through a surreal landscape, flourishing  with endless ideas and possibilities, in this whimsical and absorbing exploration of people's inner lives that ultimately  leads to the question, "Are we sleepwalking through our waking state, or are we wake-walking through our dreams?" Waking Life is a breakthrough in film animation. Originally shot and edited as live action, the footage was then graphically "painted" frame by frame via computer by a team of more than 30 artists.

Saw a preview for this when I saw "Hedwig" in Seattle.  Definitely excited about seeing it.
