Everything is art ... | ... but no plagarizing!

The art forum. sounds pretty heavy, but it's not really.
So what creative things do you all do?
I'm studying to be an architect, but I find it a little dry at times. One day I'd like to draw a comic book about architecture. In the mean time I'm trying to keep my creative juices flowing (and talents sharp) with some web stuff.

yeah, i do a lot of photoshop work.
when i was a kid, i used to read a lot of comic books, and that got me into drawing with paper and pencil. i just looked at it and said "this is just lines! i could do that!" and i was partly right. i mean, i read "drawing on the right side of the brain" and i realized that i was right, that drawing is all about seeing things exactly as they are. draw what you see, not what you're looking at, you know what i mean?
i mean to say: when you ask a kid to draw a person, they draw a stick figure.
see what i mean?
sooner or later i realized, though, that i really couldn't put that special impact into my hand-drawn images, though, y'know?
lately i'm pretty obsessed with smileys. i did a few of the ones that are in our "emoticon legend". some of the smileys there were done by other people, too. sometimes the time people put into them just astounds me. some of them are just classic, y'know what i mean?

yep, that's how I learned to draw too. Good thing I was stubborn enough to keep doin it even though I sucked.
Those emoticons are awesome. Lately I've been trying to do some animations too, although mainly in Flash. I don't know any really good traditional cell based animation programs, do you?

that's okay, I actually have a good GIF animator from VSE, but I mean a REAL animation program. Something for nice large drawings, and with onion skinning and stuff. Know anything like that?
