WWF Smackdown/Heat taping results (Spoilers)
Posted by Aaron Rift on 7/25/01

Thanks to LWN:

HEAT:

Jerry Lynn defeated K-Kwik
Hardcore Holly defeated Mike Awesome
Albert defeated Hugh Morrus
Scotty Too Hotty defeated Chavo Guerrero in a rematch from the last Heat
Raven & Justin Credible defeated Kaientai

Jim Ross came to the ring and gave the same pre-RAW speech he gave last night. “Why Stone Cold, why? Because he’s a world-class asshole.”

SMACKDOWN:

Opening montage…highlights from RAW.

The Hardy Boys defeated Billy Kidman and a newly named Hurricane Shane Helms. A very good fast paced opener. Jeff hit the Swanton on Helms, following a Twist of Fate from Matt. Matt got the cover and pin.

During the first match, Jim Ross announced Vince McMahon was in the Rock’s hometown of Miami, Florida.

Backstage, Billy Gunn was working out when Big Show approached. Show said he had an idea and wanted to form a tag team with Gunn called the “ShowGunns.” Gunn said Show’s idea sucked. Show said it was better than being “Rockabilly” or “Mr. Ass” or “The one with no talent!” Billy agreed and made fun of Show’s previous gimmicks, calling him a big pile of horse sh—interruption by Show. Show said it was settled; they were now the ShowGunns. Show said he had already worked out, and Gunn said driving through the parking lot doesn’t count!

Stephanie & Shane McMahon and Paul Heyman came to the ring. Stephanie said no one believed WCWECW would win Invasion, and they did. They have almost all the WWF titles, and introduced the “Golden Alliance.”

Out came the various champions: Sean O’Haire & Chuck Palumbo, Billy Kidman, Rob Van Dam, Lance Storm, Booker T, the new WCW US champion Kanyon (Booker T has “given” the title to him), and lastly, the WWF Champion, Steve Austin.

Kurt Angle came out. He said they may be the “Golden Alliance,” but none of them will ever have Olympic gold. And tonight in his hometown, it will please him to take out Stone Cold and bring the WWF title back to where it belongs. Austin said Kurt was selfish, it’s true, it’s true. Austin said he will give Angle the match…with Booker T, instead of himself.

Booker T looked shocked and outraged. Angle said that was fine. Angle talked some junk to Booker, and Booker finally said the match was fine with him too. Angle said after he takes care of Booker, Austin is next. He said he would make Austin part of a new alliance: “Alliance of Former Champions beaten by Angle.” It’s true, it’s true.

Backstage, William Regal talked with Tajiri. Kanyon entered the room and asked for a rematch with Chris Jericho. Regal said he would give him the match if he put the US title on the line. Kanyon said he wouldn’t. Regal said if he wanted the match, he had to say “She sells sea shells by the sea shore” ten times fast. Kanyon couldn’t say it. Tajiri laughed. Kanyon asked why Tajiri laughed. Regal said Tajiri could speak better English than Kanyon could. The match made ends up being Kanyon & Rob Van Dam vs Tajiri & Chris Jericho.

The Dudley Boys defeated The ShowGunns with a 3D on Billy Gunn.

Jim Ross announced The Rock would appear on RAW next Monday to state his plans regarding the WWF.

A video tribute by Vince aired to the Rock.

Backstage, Booker T said “the hell with Rock.” Austin told Booker not to worry about Rock, but to worry about the Olympic Slam. Austin suggested the Rock may have already found a home in the Golden Alliance.

Dallas Page defeated Kane via disqualification after Kane hit Page with a chair. Page went to strike Kane with the chair first but missed. Nick Patrick was the referee. After the match, Page hit Kane with the chair but it had no effect. DDP ran away and Kane chokeslammed Patrick.

Backstage, Lance Storm told Saturn not to bring his mop to the ring during their match. Saturn said, “Underoos are fun to wear. You’re welcome.”

Backstage, Edge and Christian looked for Kurt Angle to wish him luck but instead found Tazz. E&C made fun of Tazz’s “thug life” saying with a bunch of rhymes. It was so funny, but I couldn’t catch it all. Check out the broadcast on Thursday.

Rob Van Dam & Kanyon defeated Tajiri & Chris Jericho when RVD hit the Five Star Frogsplash on Tajiri. Tajiri had RVD in the tarantula but Kanyon hit Tajiri with his US title belt to break the move.

Backstage, Terri gave Saturn an ultimatum: her or the mop. Saturn chose the mop and said, “you’re welcome.”

Lance Storm defeated Saturn via disqualification to retain his Intercontinental championship. Saturn hit Storm with his mop after Lance “disrespected” it.

Backstage, Shane got a videotape and said maybe the Rock needed to be reminded what kind of guy Vince McMahon really is. Stephanie said she loved Shane, and Paul E. said he hated Vince.

Shane McMahon came to the ring with a message for the “hottest free agent in sports entertainment, The Rock.” Shane rolled footage of Wrestlemania 2000 where Vince, supposedly on Rock’s side, turned on him. Tons more footage was shown of Vince getting physical with Rock; hitting him with titles belts and other foreign objects. It ended with Vince suspending Rock from earlier this year. Shane said it was up to Rock whether to accept Vince’s invitation to return to the WWF or shine it up and stick it up his candy ass.

Backstage, Stone Cold gave Booker a pep talk.

Edge & Christian defeated Rhyno & Tazz after Rhyno missed a gore on Edge and hit both Tazz and Christian. Tazz had Christian placed in the Tazzmission. Quickly, Edge speared Rhyno, and Christian fell on top of Tazz for the pinfall.

Kurt Angle defeated Booker T to become the new WCW champion. A big WCWECW vs WWF brawl broke out, letting Kanyon slip into the ring and blast Angle with a chair. Booker covered Angle but did not get the pin. Earl Hebner took a bump after Booker missed a scissors kick meant for Angle, but hit the referee instead. Angle then hit the Olympic Slam, but had no official to count the pinfall. Steve Austin ran down and stunned Angle. Booker spunaroonie right up, but Angle suddenly moved and grabbed Booker’s ankle. Ankle lock and Booker T tapped.

End show.

Angle celebrated for the hometown crowd to a great reaction after the recording had ended.
