well, i'm starting to get a feel for the game mechanics.  one of the most fun parts of this game is the incredibly in-depth CAW mode.

isn't it funny how the more simple the graphics are in a wrestling game, the better it is, more often than not?

i mean, compare thq's "wrestlemania 2000" to ea sports' "wcw mayhem", or bam!'s "fire pro wrestling" to acclaim's "ecw: hardcore revoltion"...

one thing is for sure, this game was designed for hardcore wrestling fans, not the casual "monday and tuesday night only" poptart...

oh mah word! i actually won a match earlier today.

playing as chris benoit, i put a hurtin' on sting.

took like 20 minutes, though. and the computer level was set to 1, so i've got a lot more practicing to do.

Heh, why is it always so difficult to do well in just about any wrestling game? I remember playing a few different ones and the gameplay always seems to come down to who can mash the buttons faster.

well, not this one. as one of the faqs on gamefaqs.com notes repeatedly, button mashing is entirely pointless in this game.

robb, ya' ever tried any of the recent thq/aki/jakks pacific wrestling titles, such as wcw/nwo: revenge, wwf wrestlemania 2000, or wwf no mercy?

they've pretty much perfected the 3d wrestling control system, with the most recent offerings having just slightly changed to include running grapples, and  more complete wrestler positioning, such as "wrestler down: sitting up facing up" and the like. oh, and in the most recent ones you can put people through tables. hee hee hee... which is a vast improvement over "wcw/nwo: world tour" where you couldn't even run with weapons, or bring them in the ring.

this game is a LOT easier when you play in "american" mode.

this game has the greatest create-a-wrestler mode ever.

i actually understand the mechanics now, and it's pretty fucking scary.
