hey, for those of you who use PCs running windows, i have a question:

if you try to use a gif transparency as a destktop picture, can you still change the background pattern to display in the transparent areas?

i know macs can, and with neat results.

i was just wondering, 'cuz i'm about to post a keen desktop gif transparency...

I've only one pic I use on my desktop, and have the background black and am not even thinking of changing or being curious enough to see are things in whateverway you asked. So there.

Sorry. Had to write that. I'm having an "Evil Day" today. Been bitching to every single person I've met today. :explosive:

I tried that invader sim thing that was on there and the part that was suppost to be clear was black on mine.

so I guess it worked because I have the background thing as black, but I have a wallpaper with a picture on it that I thought would be inside of it but wasn't.

can you select a pattern to be displayed behind in the transparent areas?!

is there some sort of alternate program you could install that would allow you to choose desktop pictures, other than the built-in stuff?

i've got two control panels running that select desktop patterns. the built-in one is displaying a a gif transparency, and the alternative one is randomly selecting one every thirty minutes.

it makes for some interesting effects.

Nah Windows doesn't natively support transparencies in wallpaper images. I daresay there would be an app out there that would do it, but I really can't see the point.

you don't see the point in being able to make your desktop look the way you want it to?

I heard ACDsee is a good photo viewing prog and that it could do lots of stuff.  but I've never used it.
