Well, no it wouldn't be any easier to add new hacks, but nearly every hack to iB2 has become a feature in iB3. Adding hacks wouldn't be that necesary. That's the only difference really. There are some really cool features, including the ability users have to customize the feel of the board for themselves. Anyway, I like doing this stuff. It's a hobby for me, not a job. I get to learn new things all the time.

well, as i said earlier, man: if upgrading to ib3 makes your job easier, as far as adding new hacks and such is concerned, then i'm all for it.

You don't like the skins? Ok, that's fine. I'd like to know what everyone else thinks, but I'll probably just leave it up for me to tinker around with.

no offence robb, but that whole "skins" feature really doesn't do much for me.

Have you guys looked at it? We can do a lot with the way the board looks. Think about this: the skin can be modified, tweaked, stretched without touching the scripts. Almost everything can be altered. And the changes only effect that skin. We can create a default skin, which we can make look almost exactly like what we have now, and generate new skins based on the original and tweak the crap out of it. The coolest part about this is that the individual user can select the skin they like best. As a side, we don't have to worry about losing posts, the forums and posts can all be converted to the new format.

same here. i mean, unless making further changes is going to be much easier, or we can do some absolutely new stuff with 3, i say stick with what we've got.

my suggestion is to stick with the one you've got now. this one I think is better.

I'm playing around with the skin. I've added a couple that other users have made. Check it out.

I've posted the bug at ikonboard and also found a devkit for IB3 with buttons saved in .psd format if anyone's interested. http://q3tweak.serberus.co.uk/nw/ib3btndev.zip

Yep, it looks like guest posting does not work, no matter what I tried in the settings.

As a side note: the colors aren't quite what they should be. I dumped some colors in there very quickly, so it may look funky.

Ok, so I'll probably won't be doing anymore hacks for this board since I got an IB3 test board up and running. Looks like all my hacks were done for nothing since IB3 includes just about everything. It's pretty customizable too. We won't be using it as the main board until they release a gold version. There are still a few bugs and features to set in place. Click here to look and test.
